Paying to park at a hotel in Dublin Ohio is insane. I’ve stayed at this hotel for years, and it has not been updated in at least ten years. Cleanliness is not at the expected level for an Embassy Suite. Couch in the suite was older and worn out, same for the desk and table chairs. Pool area had an ant infestation. Very disappointing that this hotel has gone down hill. You definitely are treated differently as a family then I have been treated when I am with a large group reserving rooms and conference rooms!

Terrible service and hidden parking fee!

I am a Hilton Diamond member and stay an average of 12-15 nights a month at Hilton properties. As a business traveler I want an easy check in without hassle. Nowhere on the app does it say there is a charge for parking. It was a cold windy day and the parking lot is very far from the lobby entrance. Upon checking in a see a QE code that says all guests must pay for parking. My company has an issue of paying for parking and it’s a major pain to separate on my expense report so I choose to stay in hotels without parking fees. I told Aaron to simply cancel my reservation as I didn’t want to pay and was unaware of the fee. The lady next to him instantly starts chiming in and getting kind of nasty with me about the situation. “Are you having a bad day sir?” in a very condescending tone a lobby full of guests is not how you treat a Diamond member. After some back and fourth they told me they had a code for me since I was Diamond and it was free. Scan this QR code and you are all set. Ok, I check in now. Scan the QR code and I now need my plate number. Exactly what I didn’t want to do since it’s a rental and I don’t know it. Now lug everything out in the cold and wind to get it. The kicker, Aaron took it upon himself to put together a welcome bag of 2 Diet Pepsis and assigned me the room at the absolute furthest spot from the elevator. An obvious dig because I am a little husky. Not worth the hassle for an average hotel. Plenty of better options in the area with free parking and better service.

Very big hotel. It is open in the middle with a bar/restaurant. We had drinks, no food, but the menu looked good. The room is spacious and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the heating/cooling was not acting right and it was not a comfortable evening. Additionally, the hotel charges for parking. You don't know, unless you read the fine print, and then find an additional charge. I believe it was right under $10. We won't be going back given the price of the rooms.

Very disappointing experience. I arrived for a business seminar with several business partners and employees. I brought a new $85 bottle of rye whiskey with me and left it in a friends room. We went to the seminar and upon our return, the bottle had been opened and 2/3 of the whiskey was gone. I made a complaint at the front desk and was told that the "engineer" would be there on Monday and would run a report on who entered the room. I was assured that I would be contacted once the report was run. I was not contacted until I completed the survey regarding my stay and reported the complaint again. I was told that they ran the report and no one entered the room except for the guests. I questioned how the beds were made, towels replaced, glasses replaced, etc. if housekeeping did not enter the room. The women (Christian) repeated that housekeeping did not enter the room the entire 4 days that we were there. She then stated the room number which was the wrong room. I corrected the room number to her and she said that they would run the report again and contact me. It has been well over two weeks and I am still waiting for them to contact me.

Checking In: Mon Feb 5 Room 1, Days 4, Guests 1 Checking Out: Fri Feb 9 Confirmation: 90887876 Status: Confirmed / Canceled due to below 1/29 – 2/2 The good: • clean room and sheets • excellent water pressure • daily reception • salmon dinner was decent • daily refresh The bad • Communication – o The manager on Wed, 1/31 was not aware of issues in the hotel. I spoke with the manager on Wednesday regarding fitness center issues below that were reported to maintenance and the front desk on Monday. She said she had no knowledge of them but would follow-up with the GM. I stated I had 5 more weeks to stay here in Dublin and had hoped to stay here again. I asked that she call me to give me an update on the gym equipment to determine if I would stay again. She did not call Thu or Fri or at all. My reservation was canceled on Saturday – 90887876. No future ones will occur. o The manager was also unaware of the credit card issues at the restaurant. One clerk said that is a different system. Though different shouldn’t a hotel with good communication and a competent management staff know about any and all issues within the hotel? o There was no apology from the manager that she didn’t know about these issue or the issues in general. • Daily refresh did not happen while away from room o 4:30 pm Tue and 5:30 pm Wed o I advised them to just give me extra coffee and cancel Thu • Fitness center had lots of issues o Water cooler (filtered)  Water leaking on floor Monday. I threw down towels and I notified maintenance, and they turned it off. No water on Monday.  It was fixed the next day and had water Tue and Wed.  Cooler was out of order again on Thursday but at least they put out water bottles o Weight stack had a several issues  broken pulleys on both sides so unable to do certain exercises  Cables were shredding due to defective pulleys  Pulley system missing a bolt to hold cable pull in place  Missing rubber grip on one handle  Maintenance and front desk notified Monday night o Peloton bike  On Wed I told the manager the bike was not activated.  She powered it on and said all you need to do is put in your email and walked away. WRONG – the bike needs to be activated by the hotel. Once activated anyone can use it with their free or paid Peloton account. o Recumbent bike  TV not working on bike  Resistance setting did not work. I adjusted from 1 – 25 with no difference in resistance  Did not notify the staff since nothing would be done anyway o No remote control for TV  Asked manager and another front desk staff person for one  They said no problem and walked away. A remote was not delivered while I worked out nor did it arrive over the next 2 days • Bar restaurant credit card machine down Monday and Tuesday. o Had to use cash or room charge (which I don’t prefer due to splitting expenses) o Unknown if fixed since I didn’t try after that o Tuesday bartender was shocked that I said it was also out on Monday. He was disappointed that this was not resolved nor communicated to him • Room o Stiff mattress o Fitted sheet didn’t fit mattress. It kept coming off and rolling up into the bed. o Heat not working first day and had to call maintenance. o Sink drain plug did not close. I shaved using running water into a cup o Slow drain in the tub so waded through water during shower On a side note, I had to call the hotel to get my receipt. I also was not prompted to fill out a survey from the hotel. One would surmise that if surveys are not sent they don’t hear about the countless issues they have and that are not addressed.
